Effective 1 November 2026
This policy explains what CNAME Solutions ("cname.cloud", "we", "us") collects when you visit our website or use the cname.cloud service, why, and the choices you have.
What we do not collect
We do not decrypt the TLS traffic we route and do not inspect the contents of anything that passes through cname.cloud. Our website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising trackers.
What we collect
When you sign up or contact us
- Your name, email address, company, role, the domains you plan to route, and anything you write to us.
When you use the service
- Connection metadata: the hostname requested (TLS SNI or HTTP Host), client and backend IP addresses and ports, timestamps, connection duration and bytes transferred.
- Your configuration: registered hostnames, backend addresses, health-check settings and results.
- Billing records: credit purchases and usage. Card payments are handled by our payment processor; we do not store card numbers.
When you visit the website
- Standard web server logs: IP address, browser user agent, pages requested and time.
How we use it
- To route your traffic, run health checks and keep the service working.
- To measure usage and bill it.
- To detect, investigate and stop abuse, attacks and fraud.
- To reply to you and send service and billing notices.
We process this data to provide the service you asked for, to meet legal obligations, and for our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure. We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We share data only with providers that help us run cname.cloud, under agreements that limit how they use it:
- Our cloud infrastructure partners: host our edge servers, through which routed traffic passes.
- Our CDN partners: provide DNS for cname.cloud, and protection and caching for this website.
- Our payment processor: handles credit purchases.
We may also disclose data when the law requires it, to protect people or the service from harm, or as part of a merger or sale of the business.
How long we keep it
- Connection metadata: up to 30 days, longer only when needed to investigate abuse.
- Usage and billing records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Account and signup details: while your account is open, and for a reasonable period after you close it.
Where it is processed
Our edge runs in several regions worldwide, so connection metadata may be processed outside your country. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, object to or restrict how we use it, or withdraw consent. Email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
We protect data with access controls, encrypted administrative connections and limited retention. No system is perfectly secure, but we will notify you as the law requires if a breach affects your data.
Children
cname.cloud is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We will post updates here and change the effective date. For material changes, we will notify account holders by email.
