Pricing

Pay only for the data we deliver.

Prepaid credits with no subscription. Ingress is free; you pay only for the data your backends send.

Free

For evaluation and small workloads.

$0

  • 100 GB of egress each month
  • 1 root domain and its subdomains
  • 5 health checks, run every minute, at a standard check size
  • Every protocol and port
  • No payment method required

Beyond 100 GB in a month, hostnames switch to DNS routing until the following month. Free-tier features are not guaranteed and may be changed or discontinued at any time.

Pay as you go

For production workloads of any size.

$0.20 per GB of egress

  • Ingress is free
  • Unlimited root domains
  • Unlimited health monitors (the bandwidth they use is billed)
  • Prepaid credits, from $5
  • Every protocol and port

Usage is billed from the first gigabyte. Prices exclude applicable taxes.

Egress and ingress

Egress is data your backend sends through cname.cloud to whatever connects to it: browsers, apps, or your own servers at another site. Ingress is data sent through cname.cloud to your backend. Only egress is billed.

Data your backend sends to whatever connects to it, including your own servers
Egress: billed
Health-check traffic
Billed as egress
Data sent to your backend: requests, uploads, queries
Ingress: free

Example: a visitor downloads a 1 GB file through cname.cloud. That is 1 GB of egress, billed at $0.20. An upload of the same size is ingress and is not billed.

Credits and checks

How do credits work?
Credits are purchased in advance, with a $5 minimum. Usage is deducted from your balance as it occurs. There is no subscription and no end-of-month invoice.
What happens when my bandwidth runs out?
Service continues. When your free allowance or credits are exhausted, we stop proxying and switch your hostnames to DNS routing: our DNS responds with the address of a healthy backend, and clients connect to it directly. Proxying resumes when you add credits or when your free allowance resets the following month.
What changes with DNS routing?
Failover is limited by DNS caching: after a backend fails, some clients may continue to reach it until their cached record expires. Your backend's IP address becomes visible in DNS, clients connect without our edge in front, and your backend sees their IP addresses directly.
Do credits expire? Are they refundable?
Credits do not expire while your account remains open. They are non-refundable, except where required by law.
What do health checks cost?
Monitors are unlimited and free to create; the bandwidth each check uses is billed as egress. A basic TCP check every minute costs a fraction of a cent per month.
What is a standard check size?
The free tier covers common checks: a TCP connect, a TLS handshake, or a small HTTP request and response. Larger checks, or more than five, require pay-as-you-go.
